Family Recipe: Lasagne















Another secret recipe from the C***** kitchen:
Lasagne
Use 8 x 8 x 2 in. baking dish.
Prepare the sauce on previous date's recipe. (allow 4 hours).
Heat to boiling in large pot: 8 qts. water, 1/4 c. salt, 1 T olive oil
Gradually add 1 lb. lasagne noodles (Barilla Brand preferred)
Boil rapidly uncovered 15 minutes or until noodles are just tender.
Heat in skillet:
3 T olive oil. Add and cook until browned, breaking into small pieces with fork or spoon
1 lb. ground beef (beef is optional)
Drain noodles in colander.
Pour 1/2 C. of the Tomato Meat Sauce (or Marinara Sauce) into the baking dish. Top with a layer of noodles (about 1/3 of the noodles) and 1/2 of 3/4 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced
add 1/2 of browned ground beef.

Sprinkle with 1/2 of 1/4 C. grated fresh Parmesan cheese
1/2 t pepper
Top with 1/2 of 1 C. Ricotta cheese
Begining with sauce, repeat layering, ending with Ricotta cheese. Top Ricotta cheese with 1/2 C. of sauce. Arrange over the remaining lasagne noodles. Top with more sauce.
Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes or until mixture is bubbling. Let stand 5-10 minutes to set layers.
Cut into 2-in. squares and serve topped with remaining sauce.
6-8 Servings.
